Notes from the Designer:

The Zodiac sent at least 17 letters to the San Francisco local newspapers in 1970. These letters sometimes contained evidence of crimes and often cryptograms. It is these 4 cryptograms, called Z408, Z340, Z32 and Z13 so named due to the cipher letter lengths that were made up of symbols that contributed to the mysterious reputation of the killer. He has never been found, and it remains one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the last century. The first cryptogram Z408 was resolved quickly within 20 hours using a direct subsitution method by two teachers.

The second cryptogram Z340 was full solved in 2020, using the 17 row matrix reading the code diagonally again with homophonic substitution, after spliting the cipher into three sections and correcting an error in the second block. The three code breakers sent their solution to contacts at the FBI, and by the end of 2020, they had verified the methodology and results. In March 2021, a full 51 years after the letter was originally recieved. However, the ciphers used for the unsolved for Z13 and Z32 messages are yet to solved.

This is my version of the Zodiac’s Ciphers combining some of the keys of the Z408 on the capitals and Z340 on the lowercase, NB: capital letters J,K,Q,X,Z were unused in the original Z408 cryptogram, so I have added my own versions, along with the unsolved cipher keys. These include the upside down Aries sign and the presumed circled Cancer signs of the Zodiac’s unsolved Z13 infamous ID message, where he proclaimed that he had given up his identity dated April 20, 1970 and the very last last cipher Z32 from June 26 1970 that included a map of the San Francisco Bay that is presuned to contain coordinate numbers, this also contained the single Omega cipher.
